Mathematics
The mission of the Union City High School Mathematics Department is to provide every student with the mathematical skills necessary to think critically about the world around them and to navigate the complexities of the 21st century. The curriculum, aligned with the New Jersey Learning Standards, is robust with rigorous content and real-world application. Students have access to technologies that broaden and deepen their understanding of mathematics.
Our objective is to enable our students to compute fluently and solve problems creatively and resourcefully. Union City High School offers the three core mathematics courses (Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2) and a variety of electives that prepare students for the post-secondary. For more information regarding our course offerings, please refer to the Era of Excellence document located to the right of this page.
