Career Technology
The Union City High School CTE Department is dedicated to preparing students for 21st-century careers and life by offering a forward-thinking, interdisciplinary curriculum. Our goal is to provide students with the essential skills needed for success in an evolving workforce, including financial literacy, career awareness, and hands-on technical training. By working closely with local industries, trades, and post-secondary institutions, we ensure that students are ready to step confidently into their futures. Each of our programs culminates in a capstone project, providing students with an opportunity to apply their learning in real-world scenarios. These capstones will include earning an industry-specific certificate, giving students a competitive edge as they enter the job market. We are focused on expanding School-Based Enterprises (SBEs), where students actively manage real-world business operations. In our interdisciplinary approach, business classes handle the finances of these enterprises, while marketing teams develop campaigns, creating a cohesive learning experience across multiple subject areas. This collaboration allows students to see the interconnectedness of various career paths and prepares them for real-world project management and teamwork. Additionally, we are committed to fostering meaningful initiatives with our local community, building partnerships that offer valuable resources and opportunities for our students. Our curriculum is constantly evolving, bringing CTE into the 21st century and revolutionizing traditional ideas of vocational education. By integrating technology, modern business practices, and industry partnerships, Union City High School is paving the way for students to thrive in today's dynamic workforce.
