The Science Department at Union City High school and the Academy for Enrichment and Advancement comprises over 25 educators, all of which are specialized in their content area. We believe that the only constant is change, that is why we are constantly looking forward to equipping students with the skills necessary for them to succeed in the ever-changing global technological society.

We offer college, honors and advanced placement level courses in Biology, Chemistry and Physics as well as courses in elective fields of Forensic Science and Human Anatomy.

Our focus is to prepare students for careers in scientific research, advanced science, engineering or health-related professions in Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry or Nursing through academic course study as well as through real world experiences.

We encourage placement in summer programs in scientific laboratory research that gives our students the advantage of doing hands-on research at a university laboratory under the supervision of a professor/researcher. In addition, through science department recommendations, students can also participate in Medical courses and engineering programs at NJ Medical School and NJIT throughout the academic year. Our students also participate at science symposia hosted by Rutgers University, Ocean County Community College, Montclair State University, St. Josephs College and Jersey City Medical Center/RWJ Barnabus Health STEM Showcase.

We also participate in the annual North Jersey as well as the New York sections of the American Chemical Society Research Posters Competitions. We are proud to say that through hard work and preparation, our students are highly successful in their future careers due to the diligence and dedication of our knowledgeable faculty.
