Student Assistance Program (SAP)
The Student Assistance Program is a comprehensive and integrated joint school-community program for prevention, intervention, support, and referral services to students in the areas of high-risk behaviors including the use of alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and other addictive behaviors.
The primary goals of the SAP program are not designed to punish students who are involved with drugs or alcohol, but to remove the stigma and shame that surrounds such students. The SAC assists students take a look at their current life-style, identify negative consequences, and guide them toward making healthy choices.
El Programa de Asistencia Estudiantil es un programa integral e integrado de comunidad escolar para la prevención, intervención, apoyo y servicios de referencia a los estudiantes en las áreas de comportamientos de alto riesgo incluyendo el uso de alcohol, tabaco, otras drogas y otros comportamientos adictivos. Los objetivos principales del programa SAP no están diseñados para castigar a los estudiantes que están involucrados con drogas o alcohol, sino para eliminar el estigma y la vergüenza que rodea a estos estudiantes. El SAC ayuda a los estudiantes a echar un vistazo a su estilo de vida actual, identificar las consecuencias negativas, y guiarlos hacia la toma de decisiones saludables.
Confidentiality
All SAC services are confidential. When students seek help on their own they are encouraged to share this with their families. We do not however, automatically contact parents unless our assessment indicates a safety risk. This would include a student who is in danger of harming him or herself, harming someone else, or is being harmed by another individual.
Todos los servicios de SAC son confidenciales. Cuando los estudiantes buscan ayuda por su cuenta, se les anima a compartir esto con sus familias. Sin embargo, no nos comunicamos automáticamente con los padres a menos que nuestra evaluación indique un riesgo para la seguridad. Esto incluye a un estudiante que está en peligro de dañarse a sí mismo, dañar a otra persona, o está siendo dañado por otra persona.
