Mayor/State Senator Brian P. Stack Urges Residents to Enroll in Obamacare

Mayor/State Senator Brian P. Stack urges all Union City and Hudson County residents who need health insurance to drop by the newly opened Federal Department of Health & Human Services (“Obamacare”) enrollment office at 4539 Bergenline Avenue in Union City.

Mayor Stack participated in the grand opening ceremonies for the new office on Nov. 1st and noted that the office is one of only 3 such offices in the entire State of New Jersey.

“Here in Union City we have worked very hard over the years to enroll residents in the Federal Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) program,” says Mayor Stack, “and that is a big reason why the Federal Department of Health & Human Services has chosen to open this office. Now that they have made it even easier for our people to enroll, we are going to push even harder to make sure everyone who needs health insurance is able to obtain it.”

The signup period for this insurance began Nov. 1, 2016 and runs through January 1, 2017.

According to Federal officials, for $50 to $100 a month the vast majority of New Jersey residents will be able to find a health insurance plan that fits their needs.

Anyone with questions can stop by the new office on Bergenline Avenue, call a 24-hour toll free line at 1-800-318-2596, or log on to www.LocalHelp.HealthCare.gov. or www.HealthCare.gov.

The Health & Human Services Department has designated Northern New Jersey as one of 15 target markets nationwide for increased enrollment. Federal officials say that New Jersey’s uninsured rate has been reduced to only 9% thanks to Obamacare.

The City of Union City, the Union City Board of Education and other city agencies will continue to promote Obamacare signups throughout the rest of the year.
